Why Can’t I Send New Connection Requests on the Social Platform?

Updated over a month ago

Sometimes, the Social Platform may temporarily limit your ability to send new connection requests — even if your account is active. These limitations are usually short-term and are typically put in place to maintain platform quality and prevent misuse.

Here are some of the most common reasons why this might happen:

Too Many Unanswered Connection Requests

If a large number of your past invitations remain pending, the Social Platform may restrict your ability to send new ones. This is a signal that your outreach might not be resonating with recipients.

We can automatically withdraw your pending connection requests for you.

Low Acceptance Rate

A consistently low acceptance rate, especially from cold outreach, can trigger a temporary limit. The Social Platform may interpret this as a sign that you're connecting outside your immediate network too frequently or without sufficient personalization.

“I Don’t Know This Person” Reports

If recipients mark your invitation as unsolicited or indicate they don’t know you, this can harm your account’s trust level. Repeated reports like this may lead to restrictions on further invites.

Weekly Connection Limit Reached

The Social Platform enforces a weekly cap on the number of connection requests you can send; often around 100 invites per week. This limit typically resets every Monday.

What You Can Do

If you’re experiencing limits:

  • Pause new outreach for a few days until the restriction lifts.

  • Withdraw unanswered invites to improve your connection ratio.

  • Focus on engaging your current network through thoughtful comments and interactions.

  • Personalize your connection messages to increase acceptance rates and reduce the chances of being flagged.

These restrictions are usually temporary and will lift automatically. If you're consistently hitting limits, it may be worth adjusting your outreach strategy for better long-term results.
