What to Do If You Get a Compliance Notice from the Social Platform
Last updated: April 16, 2026
From time to time, you may come across a notification like this from the Social Platform. Don’t worry: it’s fairly common, and there are a few reasons it might appear.
"We noticed activity from your account that indicates you might be using an automation tool. This can sometimes be caused by browser extensions or third-party applications that run in the background. Please review any tools you may be using to access your account.
To protect our members' privacy and help foster authentic interactions on the platform, our User Agreement doesn't allow the use of automated software. Use of these tools may lead to your account being restricted".
Why this might happen:
Multiple sessions: If you’ve logged in through a regular web browser, the Social platform may detect an extra session and trigger this message.
Messaging patterns: Sending the same message to several people (even manually) can sometimes be flagged.
Profile activity: Opening many personal profiles at once (e.g., with “open in new tab”), especially if repeated often, can raise a red flag.
Profile details: Providing inaccurate information (such as listing a company you don’t actually work for) may also cause issues.
What you can do:
In most cases, simply clicking “Agree to comply” allows you to continue working without interruption.
To reduce the chances of receiving this notification, we strongly recommend using our own Browser.
