HubSpot Integration: A Few Things Worth Knowing
Last updated: June 30, 2026
If you've already read through our main HubSpot integration articles, this one covers a couple of additional behaviors that are good to keep in mind as you work with the integration day-to-day.
How Activity Sync Timing Works
One thing that trips people up: syncing always starts from the moment a setting is saved — it doesn't apply retroactively. So if you update your prospect statuses (say, you add or remove some statuses that push to HubSpot), only prospects who enter those statuses after the change will be synced. Anything before the update stays as-is.
If the Fields Aren't Pushing Correctly
If you notice that some fields aren't making it to HubSpot, or they're showing up wrong, here are the most common reasons:
Missing permissions — double-check that all necessary HubSpot permissions have been granted.
Wrong field type — the property may not have been set up correctly. For fields to sync properly, they need to be set to Single-line Text in HubSpot. Here's how to check:
In HubSpot, go to Data Management > Properties.
Select the relevant property.
Under Manage, click Field Type.
Set it to Single-line Text.
Data overwrite limitations — fields are only overwritten when you merge duplicates in HubSpot and even then, some fields may not update fully.
Still Have Questions?
The HubSpot integration has a lot of moving parts, so it's completely normal to run into questions along the way. If something isn't behaving as expected, our Customer Support team is always happy to help.
